    ii) There are 2 COBOL file called DEPO-FILE & DEPO-Y2-FILE. Both these files are assigned to disk in a program and have identical record structure.

Q. 8. a) There is dBASE file called WAGE containing the following fields i) Employee Number (EN, numeric, 5), ii) Name (NAME, character, 15), iii) Years of service (SER, numeric, 2) iv) Grade (GR, character, 5) v) Basic pay (BPAY, Numeric, 7). Write a program to print a report in the alphabetical order of name showing employee number, name, bonus for every record. An employee is eligible to get Bonus only when no. of years of service exceeds 2 years according to the following policy.

Q. 9. a) There is file called "BALANCE" containing fields Customer name (CNAME), address (ADDR), city (CITY), amount of order (ORD AMT), advance received (ADVR) where ORD AMT and ADVR are numeric and others are character. Write commands in dBASE for the following:
 
    i) To display name address and balance for every record.
 
    ii) To sort the records according to CITY and in city in the descending order of advance received to another file CMTD.
 
    iii) To decrease the amount of order by 5% whenever it exceeds Rs. 10000 and advance received is above Rs. 5000.
 
    iv) To find the total of advance received and store it at TA.
 
    v) To go to the first record where city is "NAGAR"
 
    vi) To find the number of record where balance amount is 0.
 
    vii) To create another file called "BALI" containing all the records of city MUMBAI in the alphabetical order of Customer name.
 
     
 
  b) Explain the use of the following in dBASE:

Q. 10.                            Answer in dBASE (any one):
 
  a) A dBASE file called RESULT DBF has been created. This file contains fields seat number (SEAT NO. Number, 5) Name (NAME, character, 20), and marks in six subjects (M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, Numeric, 3). Write a program to request the user to enter a seat number and then this program must find whether this seat number is already found in this file. If it is so, display "Seat number already entered". If not the program must allow the user to add this as a new record.
 
     
 
  b) A dBASE file called EMPLOYEE DBF has been created. This file contains fields Employee number (E, No. Numeric, 5), name (NAME, Character, 20), basic pay (BASIC, Numeric 8,2), department (DEPT, Character, 15) and designation (DESIGN, character, 15). Write a program to increase basic pay according to the following policy:
 
   
Basic pay                                    Revised basic pay
Upto Rs. 2000 Increase by 50% of basic pay
Above Rs. 2000 and upto Rs. 3700 Increase by 60% of basic pay
Above Rs. 3700 Increase by 70% of basic pay
 
    After this print a pay roll report showing department, employee number, name, basic pay, dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), and gross pay (GROSS) in the alphabetical order of department and in each department in the alphabetical order of name.
DA is calculated as follows:

Excess 30%
 
    HRA is calculated as follows:
